Philosophy

The Still Hopes Wellness Program strives to help all residents achieve their full potential in mind, body, and spirit. This is achieved through physical and mental exercise, healthy lifestyle practices, and education; thereby reducing frailty, chronic disease, & emotional stress and promoting self-reliance, humor and wellness.
Current Wellness Programming Includes:
  • Group exercise classes
  • Dance classes
  • Personal physical fitness assessments and consultations
  • Strength, aerobic, flexibility, balance, and neuromuscular coordination training
  • Educational seminars
  • Outdoor Fitness Trails including ADA compliant exercise stations and walking program
  • Hiking local trails
  • Massage therapy
  • Support and discussion group for self-discovery, positive attitude, and optimal living

Expert Leadership

Denise Heimlich, M.S., Wellness Director, specializes in older adult fitness and wellness. She is certified as a Health/Fitness instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine. Denise comes to Still Hopes from Cornell University where she served as the Wellness Program Coordinator.
